I wonder what it’s like to fall in love, and to have that love returned.
I have had an interesting month, and for at least a little while longer it will continue to be interesting.
Due to a series of personal issues with my current job and location (see my ‘Young’s Fucking Modulus’ tag), a few months ago I started seeking other employment. Well, I found it.
I gave my two weeks, which lead to today as the last day. I will start at my new position in the first week of December. I will be in a better area, closer to people and places I enjoy being around, and will be doing the work I want to do for better pay.
The next few weeks will be used to find a place near my new job and, if not moving in, getting all my stuff ready to be moved. While I’m excited, I’m also incredibly nervous. I’m changing a lot in my life, and it may be a while before I feel settled again.
An uncomfortable thing happened on this last day, see below cut if you’re curious…
This afternoon I’m going to A.V. Pride. It is taking place at the local fair grounds, and I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t nervous.
I live in a fairly conservative military/ex-military area. I heard some pretty offensive things (not even jokes) at work regarding Gay Days at Disneyland, so my hackles are pre-raised.
That being said, last year they had about 2,500 people show up, so it’s nice to know it won’t be a complete ghost town. The flyers they have also say there will be shows and booths (businesses, vendors, non-profit groups/organizations) but no schedule/map posted, so whatever is there when I get there will be a surprise.
