Belle is done!
…or at least as done as I’m willing to be for now xD I finished the apron, and I’m choosing to forgo fixing up the sleeves in exchange for safety pins. No time to work on it tomorrow because I really need to get studying for the EIT/FE and I have to take my car in for its 10,000 mile service.
Here’s to hoping I get a picture of the costume Friday night so I can post it :)

The dress is almost done, just gotta finish up some sleeve detailing. I also made the bow, and prepped the cloth for the apron. Almost done! I’m really looking forward to Disneyland this Friday :)

Not too much done tonight. Got the sleeves sewed all the way on and pinned about 1/3 of the lace on. I’d get more done but I need to get to bed early tonight to catch up on sleep.
For the past few updates I’ve been catching up with My Little Pony… yup, finally got the bug. Believe it or not, my brother was the one who got me hooked on the show. Not gonna lie, I kinda love it :)

Yay! An update! We’re planning on hitting up the Trick-or-Treat event this Friday.
Got the collar sewn in and hemmed, cleaned up the sleeves and pinned them in.
Still to do: lace around the bottom, detail on end of the sleeves, apron… I think that’s it ^^;
So, both my friend and I dropped the ball on getting our Trick-or-Treat tickets, and the night we wanted to go is sold out. We may go on another night during the month, but this Friday was the night we had planned with a big group of friends.
I lack the motivation to work on this costume so I don’t know when the next update will be. I’m probably going to shoot for some other Halloween event this month but I need to start really studying for my EIT/FE exam on the last Saturday of October.
-sigh-

Blarg… didn’t get as much done today as I would’ve liked. The dress is a bit tight around the chest so I’m creating a fake undershirt. The slip I have is way too short, so I think I’m going to sew lace onto the blue, even though I’m not a fan of cheating like that.

French-seamed zipper. Got a bit of puckering at the top and a bit of fuzzies sticking out, but the only way to get better is to do it over and over again. This is the third time I’ve done this, so I’m learning :)

Finished the main seams of the dress, the collar, and the arm holes. It fits a bit tight across the chest so figuring out what I’m going to do for the shirt should be interesting. I already have a slip I can wear, and the apron should be a fairly quick thing.
Still to do:
Visual soundtrack: First episode of the new season of Castle (YES), Tangled, and Communities vs Pros II - Summer Sizzler (TF2 match).
While watching Tangled I realized that the first time I live-blogged costume progress was for Rapunzel at about this time last year and for the same event. I also didn’t have a job then so I got a lot more done each day.
I’m going to be away from my sewing machine all weekend, so my next costume update won’t be until Monday. Thanks for watching :)

French seaming! Since I’ve started doing it I can’t seem to get enough of it… that being said it adds a lot of time to any outfit. You have to sew the seam once, trim as much of the extra fabric away as you can without compromising the seam, then sew another seam to kind of seal away the stuff that frays edge. Got 5 out of 7 long seams and the two small shoulder seams done today, pinned the remaining two.
I think I’m also going to tack on what I watched/listened to while working. I try to watch things I’ve seen before, but that won’t always happen. Like today.
Today’s visual soundtrack: Titan AE and S01E01 of Breaking Bad. I’ve never seen Breaking Bad before, so while it is a bit distracting it is really good!
